Apr 17, 2018Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, at Elmwood Cemetery in St. Paul, with the Rev. Thomas Clark officiating.Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m.Thursday at Christ Lutheran Church in St. Paul.Memorials are suggested to the Nebraska Humane Society or the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. All friends and family are encouraged to send us their favorite stories or memories to share.Jacobsen-Greenway Funeral Home in St. Paul is assisting the family.Vince was born on Sept. 20, 1983, in El Cajon, Calif., the son of Sherri (Stepanek) Dzingle and Vince Tomlinson. At the age of 4 he moved with his family to St. Paul, where he attended St. Paul Public Schools and graduated with the Class of 2002. Vince participated in many sports — football, baseball, track, wrestling. He loved music, MMA fighting, cooking, movies, reading and gardening. He will be most remembered for his love for his family and friends, his sense of humor and quick wit, and his ability to create nicknames for his family and friends.Vince’s love for the outdoors led him to have a career at landscaping and lawn service.Vince is survived by his mom, Sherri Dzingle, and stepfather, Russ Dzingle, of Auburn, Wash;, his dad, Vince Tomlinson, and friend, Laurie Arnett, of Dannebrog; fiancé Cheryl Porter and her sons, Jaden and Devin Mark of Fremont; a sister, Jennifer Clark of San Antonio, Texas; a brother Jeff Tomlinson and girlfriend, Amy Knapp, and niece Roslyn and nephew Joseph Tomlinson of St. Paul; grandparents, Eddie Stepanek and John and Kaye Tomlinson, all of St. Paul; aunts and uncles, Ed “Skeeter” and Carol Stepanek of St. Paul, Robin and Shari Stepanek of Bethany, Okla., Cindi and Joe DiGiovanni of Kansas City, Mo., and Tami Snyder and John and Tamie Tomlinson of St. Paul; and his special dogs, “The Flupster”, Josie the Jozarian, Star and Flair (Flizzy).Vince was preceded in death by his grandmother, Rosyln (Dolly) Stepanek; an aunt, Marybeth Tomlinson; a cousin, Bill Stepanek; and an uncle, Steve Ambroz...
